Years ago, Madison McKinley lost her twin brother and she’s never gotten over it. Searching for a way to purge the grief from her heart, she sets out to fulfill Michael’s dream of winning the town’s annual regatta. But there are a couple of problems.
Number 1: She doesn’t know how to sail.
Number 2: She doesn’t know how to swim.
Number 3: The biggest of all, she is terrified of water.
Number 4: She has to win the cup this year because Michael wanted to be the youngest cup winner ever. Next year, she’ll be too old to beat the record.
And with all these obstacles mounting against her, Madison must face one more. Beckett O’Reilly. Once a high school crush, and a rebellious teenager, now a sworn enemy. Beckett O’Reilly harbors a secret that will bring Madison to her knees. But if winning the cup means learning to tolerate Beckett and keep her heart still, she’ll do it – gritting her teeth the whole way through.
Denise Hunter. Ah, yes, Denise Hunter. Just her name means sweet, tender romance that is clean and well, sweet. I have NEVER read a book by Denise Hunter that I didn’t absolutely LOVE, with all capital letters. When I saw this one up for grabs on BookSneeze, I scarfed it up faster than you could say “Sandy seashells”. Of course, I already had a copy on pre-order, but some books are worth having two copies. You never know when you might loan one and not get it back.
This book was no exception to my “Denise Hunter Sweet Romance” rule. With a strong, stubborn heroine and a strong, hardworking hero, what’s not to love? If you have never read a Denise Hunter book and if you like (even a little) Christian fiction, can I encourage you to give this one a try?
